About the University
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) 100 acre campus is located in Gandhinagar, which is the capital city of Gujarat. PDPU offers multiple courses ranging from engineering, arts and management along with maximum exposure and opportunities to its students through various national and International exchange programs with Best Universities worldwide. For the development of its faculties and staff, the University endeavours for various collaborative programs.

PDPU has been established by GERMI as a Private University through the State Act enacted on 4th April, 2007. Since its establishment in 2007, the University has enlarged its scope by offering diversified courses in a very short period through various schools SOT, SPT, SPM and SLS to provide excellent academic programs in Technology, Management, Petroleum Engineering, Solar and Nuclear Energy and Liberal Education. It intends to broaden the opportunities for students and professionals to develop core subject knowledge which are duly complemented by leadership training interventions, thereby helping the students to make a mark in the global arena. This objective is being further addressed through a number of specialized and well-planned undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs as well as intensive research projects.

About School of Technology (SOT)

The school emphasizes on sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the chosen engineering discipline along with a broad overview of other disciplines. It is expected that engineering graduates from School of Technology will care about issues that technology can make difference whether these issues are of health, security, economic well-being or sustainability of world and values. The pedagogy involves industrial orientation, industry internships, civic and social internships, international exposure, workshops and presentations, all geared to give the right learning ecosystem for industry-ready talent. SOT offers 4 years B. Tech., 2 years M. Tech. and Doctoral programs in various branches of engineering and sciences.

About the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2011. The major research thrust areas are NonNewtonian fluid flows, Continuum Mechanics,Boundary Element Method, Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method (DRBEM), Computational Fluid Dynamics, Computational Neuroscience, Computational Seismology, Software Reliability, Theory of Relativity, Oceanography, Optimization, etc. The Department also offers a Ph.D. program to deserving candidates. The Department has thirteen faculty members and each of them are Ph.D.

About Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM)

The Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM), incepted in 1975 by a group of intellectuals led by Professor Bhu Dev Sharma, University of Delhi, is an Indian based international society of scholars working in mathematical sciences and its allied areas, and is a registered trust in India. Supported by mathematics teachers and also users of mathematics from different disciplines around the world, the society helps Institutions and Individuals to grow academically as well as professionally. First Gujarat Chapter of FIM was formed under the leadership of Dr. Manoj Sahni in the year 2016. The FIM Gujarat Chapter has organized workshops, seminars, short-term training programs in PDPU and nearby Universities in a short span of three years since its inception.

About Institution of Engineers (IEI) - Gujarat State

IEI envisions to be one of the largest and vibrant professional society of engineers, technologists and applied scientists in the world, covering all branches of engineering, committed to the promotion of continual professional and intellectual development and contributing significantly to the growth of technological knowledge, skill and capacity building of the highest order, demonstrated through innovative approach towards the cause of sustainable development.

About Computer Society of India (CSI) – Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Chapter of CSI started functioning during 1969 and today it has expanded its wings for flying in the world of research and innovation by organizing seminars, conferences, public talks on different subjects, student awareness programs and many more, and as a result, since the last five years, CSI Ahmedabad Chapter receives "Best Chapter Award" under region III.

The chapter has constantly tries to climb the ladder of success by organizing various technical and edu–social activities since its commencement. Today, the Ahmedbad Chapter has 20 student Branches with 854 student members and more than 8000 members, including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. The journey of around 35 years old chapter has lot many historical remembrance and without the efforts of senior members of Ahmedabad Chapter these achievements may not be possible.

About Gandhinagar and nearby attractions
